When was NIOD created?
NIOD launched in 2015 before The Ordinary.
Who owns NIOD?
NIOD is owned by Deciem, a multi-brand beauty company based in Toronto, Canada. Deciem was founded in 2013 by Brandon Truaxe, a Canadian entrepreneur, and it includes several other skincare and beauty brands in its portfolio, in addition to NIOD.
In 2017, Deciem and its brands, including NIOD, were acquired by Estée Lauder Companies, a global cosmetics and personal care company. Since the acquisition, NIOD has continued to operate as a standalone brand within the Estée Lauder Companies portfolio. It has retained its focus on creating advanced and science-backed skincare products.
What are the best NIOD products?
Some of the brand’s most popular and highly rated products include:
- NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum 2:1 – a serum that helps to improve the appearance of skin texture, elasticity, and firmness
- NIOD Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist – a facial mist that helps to hydrate and soothe the skin
- NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Lipid Serum 1:1 – a serum that helps to improve the appearance of skin texture and elasticity

- NIOD Ethylated L-Ascorbic Acid 30% Network – a vitamin C serum that helps to brighten and improve the appearance of skin texture and tone
It’s important to note that everyone’s skin is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. It’s a good idea to do some research and read reviews of different products to get a sense of which ones may be the best fit for your skin type and concerns.
Is NIOD better than The Ordinary?
It’s difficult to say whether one brand is “better” than the other, as what works for one person may not work for another. The best skincare products for you will depend on your individual skin type, concerns, and goals. Both NIOD and The Ordinary have a wide range of products that can be used to address different skin concerns, such as acne, ageing, dryness, and more.
Is NIOD worth the money?
Whether or not NIOD products are “worth it” will depend on your individual skincare needs, goals, and budget. Some people may find that NIOD’s advanced and science-backed products are effective at addressing their specific skin concerns and are worth the investment, while others may not see the same level of results. Is NIOD MMHC2 worth around 6 times the price of The Ordinary HA? I struggle to spend the money on NIOD MMHC2 when it´s so much more expensive, but it´s in a different league to The Ordinary. The texture, the viscosity, the feeling on the skin and the way it plumps. So maybe the next time, NIOD is on sale, give it a try so you can be the one to decide if it´s worth it.
How long do the NIOD products last?
Once NIOD products are opened, they have a PAO of 6m. PAO stands for period after opening.
The shelf life of NIOD products will depend on the specific product and the conditions in which it is stored. Most NIOD products have a shelf life of 2-3 years from the date of manufacture, although some products may have a shorter shelf life.
To help extend the shelf life of NIOD products, it’s important to store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. It’s also a good idea to follow the instructions for use provided on the product packaging, such as using a clean spatula or spoon to scoop out the product, to prevent contamination and extend the shelf life.
If you notice that a NIOD product has changed in colour, texture, or smell, or if it becomes clumpy or separates, it may be time to replace it. Using expired or compromised products can be irritating to the skin and may not provide the desired results.
One of my personal opinions is not to hold on to Copper Peptides too long. I find the blue turns dark blue/black if kept for too long.
What does NIOD Copper do?
NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum 3:1 is known for its ability to improve the appearance of skin texture, elasticity, and firmness. It is able to penetrate the skin and stimulate the production of collagen. By increasing collagen production, NIOD CAIS can help to improve the appearance of skin texture, elasticity, and firmness, and it may also help to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
