The Ordinary Niacinamide

A quick look At Niacinamide

  • Niacinmide regulates sebum, minimizes pores.
  • You can use this in the morning and evening
  • Conflicts include; Vitamin Cs Vitamin C 23%, Vitamin C 30%, L-Ascorbic Acid Powder, Ethylated Ascorbic Acid and Ascorbic Acid & Alpha Arbutin (see below).
  • Now available in 30ml and 60ml

Niacinamide can be found under “More Molecules” on the Deciem Website. There are some amazing reviews in The Ordinary & Deciem Chat Room Facebook Group and also on Instagram @deciemchatroom.

This is a water-based product which you would use as one of the very first layers in your skincare routine. You can apply a few drops to cleansed skin, ensuring it´s fully absorbed before applying the next product. This can also be used as the second water-based product you use. Read more about How To Layer The Ordinary here.

Niacinamide does conflict with other products; Vitamin C 23%, Vitamin C 30%, L-Ascorbic Acid Powder, Ethylated Ascorbic Acid and Ascorbic Acid & Alpha Arbutin. It´s best to use one in the morning and the conflicting products in the evening. There is conflicting advice about Niacinamide and Vitamin C, some people say they´re fine together. If I´m using Deciem products, I personally would take the advice from Deciem, but everyone is different. Always do your own homework. You can read more about The Ordinary Conflicts here.

The Ordinary Salicylic Acid

Salicylic Acid by The Ordinary

A quick look at Salicylic Acid

  • Salicylic Acid Lackluster Tone, Appearance of Blemishes
  • Apply morning and evening
  • There are conflicts! This should not be used in the same routine as the other direct acids, EUK 134 0.1% (antioxidant) or Peptides which include, Buffet, Buffet + Copper, Matrixyl or Argireline.

Salicylic Acid is a beta hydroxy acid that exfoliates the skin. This 2% treatment solution helps exfoliate the inside walls of pores to fight the appearance of blemishes and for better visible skin clarity with continued use.

When & How To Use. You can use this in the morning and evening. Apply to dry, cleansed skin. There are conflicting products (see above) which should not be used in the same routine. You can alternate morning and night.

Warning! There are some people that have had allergic reactions to this product, therefore it is highly advised to do a patch test before using. Please also read all about The Ordinary Salicylic Acid before buying or using.

The Ordinary also have the Salicylic Acid Masque which is a fabulous masque. You can find lots of honest reviews in the Facebook Group and on Instagram.

Natural Moisturising Factors

A quick look at Natural Moisturising Factors

  • Natural Moisturising Factors Targets Hydration, Skin repair
  • Use this in the morning and evening
  • Available in 30ml and 100ml. 100ml much better value!

Natural Moisturising Factors can be used in the morning or the evening as your last step in your skincare routine.

If I had to choose one product to use forever from The Ordinary, it would have to be this, The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors. It´s such a lovely texture and leaves skin feeling and looking hydrated for hours.

I´ve even managed to convert my husband to this and it´s a third of the price of his usual brand. This product along with Squalene oil are my 2 favourite hydration products. Especially when traveling long haul. Make sure you go for the 100ml, it´s much better value.

If you are new to The Ordinary and skincare, I highly recommend starting with a set regimen or asking Deciem for a personalized regimen. You will save time, money and a lot of stress. Additionally, you can find lots more Deciem regimens here and also the How To Layer The Ordinary Guide.
