What is The Ordinary EUK 134 & what does it do?

This is Deciem´s simplified explanation:

EUK-134™ is a biomimetic of two enzymes that are naturally occurring in the skin: superoxide dismutase and catalase. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣The exciting thing about EUK-134™ is its ability to regenerate itself (a quality unique to EUK-134™), which means that it only needs to be applied once daily to offer long lasting antioxidant support. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣EUK-134™ has been shown to reduce the appearance of visible redness and photoaging.⁣

Targets of EUK 134

  • Antioxidant Support
  • Redness

When & how do I use EUK 134?

You can use this product in the morning or evening. The solution is anhydrous, therefore use it alone or after water-based products and before oils / creams. If you find it too strong, mix it with some other non-conflicting products. You can see some recommendations below in FAQS.

The Ordinary EUK REVIEWS

Jen @jamjarjen.skin.geek. I love adding EUK 134 to Natural Moisturising Factors for an antioxidant boost.

Nia @ niapattenlooks Both EUK & Resveratrol are both excellent and affordable antioxidants. They have the same oil like texture and both give a slight warmth. Really great for adding to the morning moisturiser for an antioxidant boost

LY says:   EUK is the first product that showed me a good result! It improves my texture so much. Love it.

NI says:  I have always had very “rosy” red cheeks, go red really easily. This has stopped all that. My complexion seems to stay a lot more even now.

JC says:  I loved this product but unfortunately cant use with copper peptides so have had to discontinue. I think it helped my skin become less red/ sensitive/ flushed.

CO says:  I love mine, I use in the morning with Magnesium Ascorbyl, Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid.

GZG says:  I use it in the mornings after serum but before cream (sometimes I put a few drops and mix it with cream) Suits perfectly my hypersensitive easily irritated dry skin. It feels well hydrated after the application. When it comes to results, I haven’t noticed much difference but I guess it goes for all the antioxidants. It’s more about the prevention, I guess. An overall very nice product to use.

SD says:  Love it. I use this on my non-vitamin C days. It’s niacinamide, buffet, and a dab of this. I like how spreadable it is, I only need 2-3 small drops for my face and neck, it seems to sink in fairly quick, and my moisturizer and spf apply well over it. It’s done wonders for the flushing I used to get on my neck and occasionally on my cheeks

DC says:  I love love love EUK. It’s been one of favourite To products since it’s debut. It’s very soothing for my sensitive skin and just the anti-oxidant qualities alone are enough for me to continue using it. I use it in the PM after 7 skins and Hylamide Sub Q skin (before oils and moisturizer).

FAQS about EUK 134

I find EUK 134 hard incorporating into my routine. It feels like an oil “film” over my skin. EUK 134 0.1% can be mixed into your moisturiser for a strong antioxidant boost and easier application. We like to mix it with Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

Would you recommend mixing it EUK with B Oil as well? Yes, sounds great.

Hello, I use buffet copper + retinol + EUK 134 + pycnogenol 5%. Isn’t too much? We would not recommend combining strong antioxidants such as The Ordinary Pycnogenol 5% with copper peptides due to the susceptibility of the antioxidant reacting with the copper ions. Our recommendation is aimed for new users of the product. However, if you have previously used Pycnogenol 5% with copper peptides and have not experienced any discolouration or negative side effects, and you are happy with the results, you may continue to combine the products as so.

Would it be a good idea to mix EUK 134 with Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F? Yes, you may wish to do

What is the best time to use? Night or Morning? It can be used in the AM and PM.

More Faqs about EUK 134

Can I use HA + B5, AG12 and EUK in the morning? What order?  Yes you may! In the order you’ve listed. ☺

Is EUK 134 okay to mix with a water-based moisturizer? What type of moisturizer is best to combine with for a lighter application? It can be mixed with The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA.

Does water affect the stability of the antioxidant? No it does not.

My current morning regimen is Niacinimide + EUK + Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate. Is this OK? Yes this order sounds great

Is the effect of EUK 134 going to last even after washing your face? I tend to wash my face multiple times a day. Your skin would absorb the product within seconds.

Can this be used with NIOD CAIS or Buffet with Copper Peptides? We would not recommend combining strong antioxidants with copper peptides due to susceptibility of the antioxidant reacting with the copper.

I just bought EUK, and I’m wondering if I can use this with my morning application of Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate without compromising the EUK. Is it also okay to use with Glycolic Acid or Salicylic Acid? You can indeed! However, EUK 134 should not be used at the same time as direct acids. We hope this helps!
