The Ordinary Coverage & Serum Foundation reviews by the Deciem Addicts. There are 2 types of foundations, the serum and the coverage.

Here´s an example of the names of the foundations;
- 1.2P is Light with Pink Undertones
- 2.0P is Light Medium Pink Undertones
- 3.0Y is Medium Dark with Yellow Undertones
The Ordinary Colours are divided into three categories:
- 1 for fair to lighter tones
- 2 for medium tones
- 3 for darker tones
Each category then has a second digit from 0 to 3 to indicate depth within each category.
- 1.2p
- 2.1p
- 3.3n
Finally, a letter is added to the shade code to identify the undertone:
- P (Pink)
- R (Red) indicate cool undertones for lighter and darker shades respectively
- N indicates a Neutral tone
- Y indicates a Yellow undertone

High-Spreadability Pigment Suspension System with High Coverage
The Ordinary coverage foundations are available in 21 shades. These foundations contain higher pigment levels than our Serum Foundations but still offer a smooth finish that avoids the heavy makeup look that can make skin appear more aged. The texture is that of a lightweight, non-oily cream.
How To Use The Ordinary Coverage Foundation
- Shake the bottle well before use.
- Pump a small amount in the palm or on the back of your hand.
- Apply to the face ideally from the midpoint of the face outward.
- As with all products, if irritation occurs, cease use and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Patch testing prior to use is advised.

I LOVE this foundation. I think it’s my favourite that I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried so many high-end kinds. It’s not full coverage but covers up my hyperpigmentation and blemishes really well whilst leaving a very natural finish and letting my skin peek through.
Love it! My favourite foundation is the full coverage. It´s dewy and makes my skin look healthy. My skin type is combination to normal.
I mixed both foundations together and it works for me.
Love love love this. I get so many compliments when I’m wearing this.
OMG, I love it
Love it!! I use it after my morning routine, and it lasts all day long.
So far, the best foundation for me. The right balance between spreadability and coverage. Doesn’t hurt to buy a few shades and mix at this price.
Love this foundation too. I mix it with my Natural Moisturising Factors + HA and apply it after the ordinary niacinamide serum.
I use a foundation brush and blending brush to get the best look

I LOVE ❤️ The Ordinary serum foundation. It feels just how I want it to feel. Sheer dewy cover and easy to apply.
Perfect
Nope. It emphasises my pores, looks cakey as hell, and is starting to separate after an hour or so…
Love it❤️❤️
I love this for special occasions after applying an antioxidant (currently EUK) followed by my mineral sunscreen SPF 30 from The Ordinary. I have combination skin. 2 drops spread with fingers, and you look radiant!
I love it! I use a lighter shade in winter and a darker one in the summer. It’s my second year non-stop!
Absolutely love it! The only foundation I’ve had that stays in place and makes my skin look amazing 💕

Tips When Buying Foundation
The Ordinary foundation is really good value. If you make a mistake on one of these, it´s not the end of the world, unlike some more expensive brands. When buying some of the more expensive brands, take your time, and make sure it´s the right one for your skin. I know I´m not the only one with numerous foundations lying around because they ended up being the wrong shade.
- Try the foundation in-store (if you can). Go to the shop with cleansed, moisturised skin and test them. My personal advice is to use your normal skincare otherwise, you´ll be talked into more lotions and potions you probably don´t need.
- Once applied, go outside and see what it looks like in the daylight and all different lights. Check in the mirrors too.
- Take photos. See how the tone matches up with your neck. It´s amazing what the camera picks up!
- Don´t be scared to tell the staff that you´re going to see how it wears over a few hours. Has it creased? Did the colour change? Has it even stayed on? Go back later or the next day to purchase.
- Ask for samples to try when you get home.
