A clear mascara gel wasn’t something I ever expected to see from The Ordinary, but after seeing it in action, it made perfect sense. Rather than focusing on colour or volume, this lightweight formula is designed to condition, hydrate and define your lashes and brows while giving them a natural, healthy-looking finish.
Officially launched on 9th December 2025, The Ordinary Lash & Brow Finisher is a simple everyday product for anyone who prefers a natural look or wants to keep their brows and lashes neat, soft and conditioned.

How To Use The Ordinary Lash & Brow Finisher
For the best results, curl your lashes first before applying The Ordinary Lash & Brow Finisher.
Brush a light coat through your lashes from root to tip. You can wear it on its own for a natural, healthy-looking finish or allow it to dry for a few minutes before applying your favourite mascara.
The same product can also be brushed through your eyebrows to shape and hold them in place. It also works surprisingly well for taming flyaway hairs and even tidying beards or moustaches.
My Thoughts on The Ordinary Lash & Brow Finisher
As I’ve got older, I’ve realised that my trusty black mascara can sometimes look a little harsh, especially during the day. These days I find myself reaching for softer makeup, whether that’s a brown mascara or a clear one that simply defines my lashes without adding colour.
I’ve never found a clear mascara that gives quite the same volume as a traditional mascara. Sometimes you just want your lashes to look healthy, separated and naturally lifted.
I also think it’s worth re-evaluating our makeup as we age. The products, colours and techniques we loved ten years ago aren’t always what suit us now. My own routine has definitely become softer and more natural.
One thing I especially like is using clear mascara on my lower lashes. Every black mascara I’ve tried eventually leaves me looking like a panda by the end of the day, whereas a clear formula gives definition without the smudging.

I’m waiting for my full-size product before sharing my complete review, as I’ve only been testing an early sample so far.
So far, I really like the brush. It separates the lashes beautifully, applies smoothly and also works well through the brows.
The photos show the difference after applying The Ordinary Lash & Brow Finisher. My lashes naturally point downwards, so I curled and gently lifted them during application. I also used the product on my brows to tidy and define them.
