Before Buying NIOD Products
If you’re new to NIOD skincare, it’s easy to get excited and want to buy several products at once. Unlike The Ordinary, however, NIOD products are premium skincare formulas, so it’s worth taking a little time to choose the right products for your skin and budget.
My advice is to start with one or two NIOD products, use them consistently for several weeks, and then gradually build your routine if you enjoy the results.
Before buying, I recommend reading genuine reviews from people who have already tried the products. Throughout Deciem Chat Room, you’ll find my own reviews, community polls and feedback from thousands of skincare enthusiasts to help you decide which NIOD products are worth your money.
Read NIOD Reviews Before You Buy
Every NIOD product has its own dedicated review on Deciem Chat Room, including:
- My personal experience after using the product
- Community reviews and Instagram polls
- Before-you-buy advice
- Who each product is best suited for
- The closest The Ordinary alternative where available
You’ll also find plenty of discussions in the The Ordinary & NIOD Chat Room Facebook community and on Instagram.
Check NIOD Product Conflicts
Before introducing any new skincare product, it’s important to understand which NIOD products can and cannot be used together.
This becomes even more important if you’re combining NIOD with The Ordinary or other skincare brands, as some active ingredients should not be layered in the same routine.

How Much Do NIOD Products Cost?
NIOD products generally range from around $25 to $90 USD, depending on the formula and bottle size.
Because NIOD is one of Deciem’s premium brands, I always recommend checking for promotions before buying. Authorised retailers regularly offer NIOD discounts of up to 30%, especially during major skincare sales events.
How Long Do NIOD Products Last?
Most NIOD products have a Period After Opening (PAO) of 6 months, shown by the 6M symbol on the bottle or packaging.
Unopened, most NIOD products have a shelf life of approximately 2 years from the date of manufacture, although this can vary between formulas.
To help your products stay fresh for as long as possible:
- Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Always close bottles tightly after use.
- Avoid contaminating products by using clean hands or a clean spatula where appropriate.
- Only open products when you’re ready to use them regularly.
💙 One tip from personal experience: I don’t recommend stockpiling Copper Peptide products such as CAIS. Over time, they can gradually change from their distinctive bright blue colour to a much darker blue or black. While this doesn’t necessarily mean the product has become unsafe, I prefer to buy copper peptide products when I’m ready to use them rather than storing them for long periods.
